Cero is a vegan, zero waste store based in Tucson, Arizona.
In May 2019, Cero began as a pop-up shop and then grew into a retail and events space located at Tucson & Broadway Blvd along The Sunshine Mile.
In March 2023, we reopened in our new home at the base of the Monier Building in the Mercado District in Menlo Park, near A Mountain. Our current address is 160 S. Avenida Del Convento, Suite 188. On the east side of the building, adjacent to the street.
Our focus is on low waste, ethically made products. We curate products that are vegan, cruelty-free, and low on plastic and packaging. We also love to support our local and regional vendors.
Val Timin & Nelene Deguzman, Cofounders
Two radical friends turned business partners.
For the last decade, Val (left) has been a localist and environmentalist on a path towards a sustainable, less wasteful lifestyle. She started dreaming of a trash-free grocery store before she knew “zero waste” was a thing, and before "Unverpackt” ever opened in Germany and zero waste stores started popping up across the globe.
Nelene (right) is a longtime vegan with a background in bio-chemistry, and lead singer/songwriter of the band Female Gaze. Struggling to find products, especially locally, that met the criteria of vegan, cruelty-free, and zero waste, Nelene partnered up with Val to make dreams come true.
They both enjoy living life in line with their values.
